This Saturday, 21st of April 2018, we are conducting an Science Open Day at Sir C.V. Raman’s old home, Panchavati, in Malleswaram, Bangalore. Much like our first Open Day held last November, the premise of this Open Day is to have live laboratory stalls where a selection of activities will be facilitated by our educators throughout the day, and any visitor can register, come, attend and make as many of the activities on offer as they want and take back home with them: all for free.
The stalls will be active all day, from 10AM to 5PM, and it is recommended you register beforehand (to avoid queues at the venue on the day) at to claim your free essential materials kit by showing your confirmation email upon arrival at Panchavati. We have a whole new selection of activities, like stethoscope, acrylic microscope, speed and acceleration measurements, DIY Music and Straw Propeller.
This is Open in the true sense: completely free to attend, people could come in and go out whenever they want (10AM to 5PM), and anyone could try, experiment and learn a little more of science. Get all your family, relatives, neighbours and friends to register and attend the Open Day. You can come in and go out as you want. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday; you are bound to leave with your hands and minds full of exciting science experiments.
The workshops are designed for children in the 8-15 age-group. Children who are 6-7 years old may also attend, but will need an accompanying adult with them at all times. Those 16 and over are of course welcome to attend, as the activities are fun and engaging for people of all ages. The workshops won’t be suitable or beneficial for those 5 and below.
Even for those who have attended the ISPF workshops or Summer Camp in Bangalore before, the Science Toys and Science Experiments are unlikely to be repeats and there will be ample scope and materials to explore, make variants, document your observations and take the experience to the next level. It will be a wholly unique experience.
Children will need to make their own arrangements for transport and food/refreshments.
